Let There Be House

We’re hitting the dance floor with house, one of the most impactful dance music genres having a spell with its sub-genres to this day since the late 70’s and early 80’s in Chicago, New York and London. We will chant “Let There Be House!” on Saturday, December 10th and meet with the pioneers of house and techno in Turkey, U.F.U.K. and Ahmet Şendil!

U.F.U.K.

Embracing house music and leading its way to popularity in Turkey, U.F.U.K. takes inspiration from Derrick May to create his musical style strolling around house and tech-house genres blending with groovy beats in his sets. Being one of the renowned DJ and music directors in the years during which dance music grew globally and many clubs opened in Istanbul, U.F.U.K.’s music career started when he was 14 at a recording studio that he worked for. Developing his DJ’ing abilities by creating his personal technique, U.F.U.K. shortly started to play as a resident DJ in multiple alternative clubs of Istanbul. After having started to play at the city’s first night clubs 19 and 20, he got to the cabin at 2019, which was then selected as the best underground club of Europe. With the increase of electronic music listeners, U.F.U.K. started to host his own radio shows on Radio 2019 and took stage at several clubs with his sets. He shared the scene with many successful DJs such as Carl Cox, Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, Masters At Work, Frankie Knuckles, Fatboy Slim, Derrick Carter, Armand Van Helden, Joe Claussell and played the closing shows at the gigs of big artists such as Alanis Morisette, Massive Attack, David Bryne, Placebo, Moloko.

Ahmet Şendil

Producer and DJ Ahmet Şendil is among important names of techno music in Turkey and in the world. Making his name known internationally with his creations and live performances, Ahmet Şendil reinforced his place in the global music scene by founding his record labels M-Vitamine Recordings and Bosphorus Underground Recordings. Considered as one of the best minimal house and minimal techno labels, Bosphorus Underground Recordings takes stage at different cities with the DJ’s under it represents and gets recognized by electronic music platforms. Performing in more than 100 countries and around 200 cities with his sets, Ahmet Şendil continues to work under Bosphorus Underground to discover and educate new talents.
