Tortured Soul created a whole new concept in house music.

They combine usual club music with house-jazz, funk and soul with the influences of afro-beats and samba. They sound like the synthesis of Tortured Soul, Jamiroquai, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Fela Kuti. Tortured soul was formed by Christian Urich who was a former member of popular r&b/house band Cooly’s Hot Box. Urich’s ‘We Don’t Have to Be  Alone’ is accepted as an acid-jazz classic. They shared the stage with many remarkable names such as James Brown, Maceo Parker, John Scofield, Widespread Panic ve Soulive. Their first album ‘Introducing Tortured Soul’ was released in 2004 and gained immediate recognition. Tortured Soul’s upbeat sound which is a combination of  soul, electronica and house will get you on the dancefloor.
